Ham and Bean Soup

  1. Add the dried beans to a stock pot and add water. Cover them and a couple inches more.
  2. Simmer the dried beans for 2 hours.
  3. Add all of the remaining ingredients (cubed ham, ham bone, garlic, onions, celery, and carrots)
  4. Add more water to cover all the ingredients if needed
  5. Simmer covered for 3 hours, stirring occasionally
