Apple Pie
- 1 pie crust (top and bottom)
- 7-9 medium baking apples (fuji)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp corn starch
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp milk
- Preheat oven to 425 F.
- Place bottom layer of pie crust into the pan
- Combine apples, sugar, corn starch, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl
- Add apple mixture to pie pan, spreading evenly
- Cut butter into small chunks and place evenly around the top of the filling
- Place top layer of pie crust, crimping edges for a good seal
- Brush milk across the top of the crust
- Cut vents in the top of the crust (small holes, you can get artistic with them if you want)
- Sprinkle some additional sugar and ground cinnamon on top of the pie
- Bake at 425 F for 15 minutes
- Reduce heat to 350 F and bake 30 more minutes
